This was the first outing for many of the U14 girls in a full pitch 11 a-side game.
They played some very impressive expansive passing hockey.
Captain Emma Ross, lead the team from the back, assisted by the very capable duo of Robyn and Alicia.
Hertford took an early lead through a well worked move down the right hand side, with Kiana sweeping the ball home from an Izzy S pass in from the wing.
A lack of concentration then saw Hertford go 3-1 down at half time.
The girls came out in the second half determined to win. The encouragement they gave each other on the pitch was exceptional.
The midfield of Lucy, Elinor, Jen, Sophie and Amelia pressed hard and kept Crostyx pinned in their own half, resulting in 3 unanswered goals from Kiana, Jen and Tilly.
Hertford’s Isabella E also had a goal disallowed, having been judged to be outside the area when striking the ball at goal.
A good performance from Ciara in goal, made sure that on the occasion Crostyx offered any attacking threat, they were kept at bay.
A great win for the girls in their debut league match, with proud parents and coach.
